Dr. Deming Video: A Theory of a System for Educators and Managers

This Video with W. Edwards Deming, Russell Ackoff and David Langford discussing education. Lloyd Dobbins brings together the comments of those 3. This is part of one of the videos in the Deming Library which explores Deming’s ideas and brings in experts on various topics to explore this ideas with Dr. Deming.

The video includes a great deal on systems thinking. Dr. Ackoff is an expert at explaining the importance of systems thinking and the difference between systems thinking and analysis.

David P. Langford and The W. Edwards Deming Institute are working together to expand Dr. Deming’s message of Profound Knowledge and hope for significant improvement in the Quality of Learning throughout the world.     During the school year of 2000 as teacher I developed a matrix (control sheet) integrating the basics of Deming and Benjamin Bloom’s cognitive taxonomy in my teaching of basic writing to about 80 students. I presented a document summarizing my results to Quality Management. My document, “Better Teaching with Deming and Bloom” explains the great results of this effort. I urge you to read it.
